a short & fun series of challenges that i liked a lot!
i played one of your other games, cockatrice forest, and i think you've improved a lot on designing fun puzzle concepts. trying to get through the monsters in each level is really enjoyable! and everything feels fair; the time you're given is enough to beat the stage but it still makes you focus on where to go, the blinking of the ghosts has a really nice frequency that isn't too high or too low, and the way the difficulty increases as you go on feels solid and not unfair at all. i love how the last level makes you go through the entire map, that was cool.
obviously the story isn't complex and that's okay! i don't mind games that focus on the gameplay before the plot. and still, i really liked the little moments before you enter each level. they were a nice way to make you feel like everythings's progressing. and that ending was unexpected haha. i will say that the word choice was a little odd in parts of the text, but it wasn't a big problem.
overall i really liked this! with how story-focused a lot of the games in this jam are, it's nice to play something with a neat gameplay gimmick that's simply fun all the way through :D
I think I'd recommend getting a proof reader for these games, as it's a bit difficult to tell what's happening, at least to me, with the way things are worded. It felt somewhat short and a bit repetitive like the last entry, with nearly identical maps.
It didn't feel much like a story, especially since we don't get much character development or any reason for why the characters are where they are, who they are and so on. It feels hard to empathize with the characters, because there's little to no story, if that makes sense.
The puzzle idea was alright, but otherwise it left quite a lot to be desired if I'm being honest!

Cute! Simple and fun. I love memory type games, they really capture my whole attention.
